Equal parts pastiche and parody, this multimedia body of work is narrative in nature. Its message contains themes of renewal, replenishment, disconnection, and authenticity. Conceptually it is a mash-up of cultural cues as diverse as the writings of Guy Debord, Picasso’s The Dream and Lie of Franco, and movies such as John Carpenter’s They Live. Stylistic features found within a myriad of visual culture are mined and assimilated symbolically, these references influence the more formal aspects of production in this ever-expanding body of work. Let us follow our protagonist, Franco the kid, as he navigates a media-saturated wasteland of over-consumption on his quest for identity and belonging, individualism and community.
